About This Artist:
Mikayla Smith, a 2022 graduate of The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, launched her jazz career at the 2022 Night of Jazz with a powerful rendition of “I Ain’t Got Nothin’ but the Blues.” Selected as one of the top 40 vocalists nationwide for the Songbook Academy, Mikayla advanced to the Top 8 finalists and was showcased in the Finale. She earned the Young Artist Award from The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook and was featured in Downbeat Magazine. Mikayla has performed alongside jazz legends such as Michael Feinstein, John Pizzarelli, Nicole Henry, and Wycliffe Gordon, and recently shared the stage with The Voice competitor Wendy Moten. She is currently pursuing a Vocal Performance degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
