About this Event
Now the award-winning magician brings his hilarious style to the lecture circuit! What differentiates Michael is the adaptation of the skills he’s gathered across so many varied performance types, from improv comedy to film production. As an emcee, Michael has had to keep the show going in almost any situation, and as a variety artist, he’s been challenged to adapt to a different theme each month, pushing him to a level of creativity most artists never experience. Hence, this Cajun Conjuror offers a unique perspective drawn from over 30 years of his many varied endeavors in professional entertainment.
Some of the subjects covered in the lecture:
- Making sense of your movements
- Using interchangeable props
- Adding improvisation to magic
- Making your routines versatile
- Adapting to different audiences
- Creating entertaining story lines
- Finding happy coincidences
- Developing original material
A few of the effects explained:
- INVISIBLE TRIUMPH - Without the use of any props, a spectator who leaves the room is able to name an imagined card
- IMPROMPTU TOPIT - Pretty much what the name means; vanish and produce an object without the use of a topit
- TEMPERATURE COATED - Michael’s incredibly unique spin on the classic “Chicago Opener.”
- TOXC 20 - Two different spectators are able to simultaneously read out the same serial number of a borrowed bill
- DIS N DAT - Sponge Balls with a Cajun Flair. An easy routine that can be altered to fit any theme
- ANTI GRAVITY RING - 3 original sleights involving ring and coin manipulation
In-Person is better, but a Zoom Link is available.
