Chicagské psych-drone trio Bitchin Bajas v čele s Cooperem Crainem z kapely Cave vyráží s novou kaleidoskopickou deskou Inland See (Drag City) do MeetFactoryPočátky Bitchin Bajas sahají do roku 2010. Původně sólový side projekt frontmana krautrockového uskupení Cave se zrodil z vášně pro spektrální kosmický ambient. Ke Crainovi se po vydání prvních kazetových nahrávek přidali Rob Frye (spolukapelník z Cave) a Dan Quinlivan (Mahjongg) a společně s albem Water Wrackets definovali zvuk Bitchin Bajas: hypnotizující drone ambient, který vrství elektronické plochy vintage synťáků s akustickými texturami.
Po řadě dalších alb a EPček – od nahrávky Switched On Ra, která je poctou Sun Ra, až po experimentální release Bajascillators, s nímž Prahu navštívili v roce 2023 – se kapela vrací s novou řadovkou Inland See. Bitchin Bajas ji berou na evropské turné s dubnovou zastávkou ve smíchovské továrně.

Večer zahájí domácí elektro-akustický kvartet Gurun Gurun, jejichž improvizované live sety jsou mixem postklubové dekonstrukce, metamorfovaných organických i syntetických zvuků, generativní hudby i musique concrète. Gurun Gurun, kteří se pojmenovali podle fiktivní planety z oldschoolového slovenského dětského seriálu Spadla z oblakov, koncertují po Evropě, hráli v londýnském Café Oto a absolvovali i úspěšné japonské turné. Pódium sdíleli s Michaelem Girou, Haco, Timem Heckerem nebo Lichens.

The longstanding Chicago psych-drone trio Bitchin Bajas, led by Cooper Crain of Cave, is heading to MeetFactory with their new kaleidoscopic album Inland See (Drag City)
The origins of Bitchin Bajas date back to 2010. Originally a solo side venture of the frontman of krautrock revivalists Cave, Bajas was born out of a passion for spectral cosmic ambient, blending meditative synth exploration with psychedelic guitar tones. After a string of split-singles, EPs and cassette releases, Rob Frye (Crain's bandmate from Cave) and Dan Quinlivan (Mahjongg) joined the project, and together they defined the sound of Bitchin Bajas on 2011's Water Wrackets: hypnotic drone ambient explorations, layering electronics and vintage synths with acoustic textures.
After numerous of other albums and EPs – from Switched On Ra, their tribute to Sun Ra, to the experimental release Bajascillators, with which they visited Prague back in 2023 – the band now returns with a new full-length album, Inland See. Bitchin Bajas are taking the new record on a European tour with a stop at MeetFactory.

The night will open with the Czech experimental quartet Gurun Gurun whose improvised live sets are a mix of post-club-music deconstruction, metamorphosed acoustic and electronic sounds, generative music, and musique concrète. Gurun Gurun have played concerts across Europe, including London’s Café Oto, as well as successfully touring Japan. They have shared the stage with artists including Michael Gira, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Haco, Gareth Davis, Kate Carr, and Tim Hecker.
