With thanks to University of Worcester’s Dr Anna Muggeridge and a successful bid to the UKRI, we will be out and about collecting stories and interviewing people about their experience of birth and giving birth.Did you give birth in Worcestershire and have a story to tell about it? We’re looking for people to come forward to share stories of their experiences of birth and having a baby in Worcestershire. Ordinary or extraordinary, home birth or hospital, we want to hear them all! We know there will be stories of joy, and of loss, and as long as you’re happy to share them, we would like to archive them. We want to cover as wide a time period as possible so whether you gave birth last year or if you have relatives who gave birth here many decades ago, please be in touch.
We will be asking to interview a small number of people about their experiences of birth since the 1950s and may be in touch. Please note we won’t be able to interview everyone, but all stories shared will be archived.
The remaining events are all held between 10:30am and 12:30pm at the following venues (more to be announced):
Forge Mill Needle Museum, Needle Mill Lane, Redditch on Friday 20 March 2026
