About this Event
This course is for women and birthing people booked to give birth at Whipps Cross hospital.
Please book ONE ticket per couple (You and your support person).
Please cancel your ticket promptly if no longer required, so that someone else can book a space.
We recommend you aim to participate in these classes when you are around 30-32 weeks pregnant.
Course content:
WEDNESDAY 15th May - 6pm - 8:30pm - Session 1: Birth settings, preparing for birth, physiology of labour and birth and coping with labour.
WEDNESDAY 22nd May - 6pm - 8:30pm - Session 2: Deviations from physiological labour, medical intervention and pharmacological pain relief.
WEDNESDAY 29th May - 6pm - 8:30pm - Session 3: What to expect in the postnatal period: postnatal care and recovery and care of the newborn.
By booking a ticket you are registering to participate in ALL 3 sessions.
Please provide us with your phone number and Hospital number (MRN - you can find it on the front of your pregnancy notes), this will allow better communication, eg if classes need to be cancelled.
Each class lasts approximately two and a half hours, including breaks. You are welcome to bring your own nibbles and snacks!
The course aims to be an interactive, safe space for you to ask questions and actively participate.
Location: Maternity Classroom (Ground Floor - Maternity Unit), Whipps Cross Hospital
Car park 3 is the closest to the Maternity Unit (Standard car parking charges apply.)
