About this Event
Our Wednesday walks include a lunchtime pub stop. Requirements for meals from the pub menu are usually requested and ordered before the start of the walk by the leader. Walkers who prefer to take a picnic lunch are welcome to do so and the leader will have a place designated for this somewhere near the pub, in the village, or in the area where we are stopping for lunch.
This is a moderate to challenging eight mile ‘figure-of-eight’ walk, offering extensive views over Warwickshire, Worcestershire and beyond.
If travelling by public transport meet at the 61/63 bus stop in St. Martins Queensway (B2 4PU) opposite New Street Station at 09.00. We will change onto the number 20 bus to Rednal Island from where it is a short stroll back to the Oak Tree pub.
If arriving by car, please use the upper area of the pub car park.
The Oak Tree pub location details for this walk are:
- Postcode: B45 8UX

Part 1: six miles then lunch at the Oak Tree pub. Part 2: two miles.
The first section of the walk involves a steady climb up to Beacon Hill, which at 987ft. is the highest point of the walk. It is then on to Waseley Hill and Windmill Hill, before reaching Waseley Hills visitor centre and an opportunity for a break and refreshments. We then loop round to Quarry Hill before reaching Rednal Hill, after which we drop down to the Oak Tree pub for lunch. (See website for menu).
The second loop of the walk after lunch takes in the Bilberry and Cofton Hills, after which we return to our starting point.
