It may be our final chance this season to farewell our trans-equatorial migratory travellers before they lift off for their epic journey back to the far reaches of the Northern Hemisphere. But our skies and wetlands will be far from quiet! Plenty of resident and visiting birds remain to charm you.
And there’s more to see than feathers and flight - you might even catch an early glimpse of transformation in action at Point Waylen, where revegetation and revitalisation works are getting underway and Melville Bird Sanctuary is beginning to take shape. It’s a season of movement, renewal and new beginnings.
The walk will be led by one of our volunteers, Lesley Macauley (BirdLife WA), whose expertise and passion for our birdlife promise a special experience!
Bring sunscreen, a hat, a bottle of water and your binoculars. We’ll have a limited number of spare binoculars available — including pairs for children. Please wear closed shoes.
We look forward to seeing you there.
