Join the Friends of North Prairie Native Gardens as they welcome the Waukesha County Land Conservancy on Tuesday, February 24th at 6:30PM for an engaging, in-depth talk on Wisconsin’s birds and the ecosystems they call home! Many of our bird species rely on incredibly specific habitats - from prairie specialists that cannot survive outside open grasslands, to wetland birds tied to marshes, and forest-dwellers that depend on mature trees and layered canopy structure. These ecosystems don’t just support birds; birds help sustain them by dispersing seeds, managing insect populations, and contributing to overall ecological balance.
Join us to explore how different bird species fit into their unique habitats, why those connections are so vital, and simple steps you can take to protect the landscapes birds need to survive and thrive for generations to come.
This program is free to the public and family friendly.
