Celebrate the birds you spot in everyday life — like the cheeky wagtail, curious magpie, or gentle doves. In this beginner-friendly session, you'll learn to paint soft feathers, expressive eyes, and simple bird shapes while exploring colour mixing and character.

Whether you're a first-time painter or looking to unwind with creativity, this session will guide you through watercolour techniques in a safe and supportive space.

• Soft washes and bleeding colour techniques
• Basic bird shapes and gesture sketching
• Layering for texture and feather detail
• Capturing emotion and character in birds

10:00 AM – Welcome + Materials Intro Meet your facilitator, get familiar with brushes, colours, and paper.

10:15 AM – Simple Bird Drawing Techniques Learn to sketch bird forms with contour and gesture drawing.

10:40 AM – Watercolour Techniques for Feathers Practice wet-on-wet, blending, and soft layering to create soft textures.

11:10 AM – Create Your Bird Artwork Bring it all together in your final expressive bird painting using reference images.

11:45 AM – Group Share + Wrap Up Optional sharing and gentle reflection on the process.

2. Head to Level 1 and find the CUE store (Shop 123/211 La Trobe St).
3. Walk a little further down the corridor.
4. You’ll see "The Between" Skybridge — a glass bridge linking Melbourne Central to Emporium Melbourne over Lonsdale Street.
