Birds of a Feather invites you into an honest conversation about experiences many people live with but rarely talk about.
This presentation introduces a Milwaukee-based feature film project in development, inspired by real stories and focused on how childhood trauma can affect people long into adulthood. Through relatable characters and clear, heartfelt storytelling, the film aims to help audiences recognize these experiences in the people around them, and sometimes in themselves.
This event is for those who care about Milwaukee and the strength of its community. The film is in development and is being produced entirely in Milwaukee, with a female-centric film team and cast and crew made up of people from the area, or who have strong Wisconsin roots. The project is deeply connected to the community it reflects, supporting local talent and businesses along the way. When the film is completed, community screenings are planned to benefit Wellpoint Care Network, which supports children and families impacted by trauma.
The goal is not only to tell an important story but to turn awareness into action. During this presentation, you will learn why this story matters, how local storytelling can inspire understanding and healing, and how you can help bring the film to life. Through conversation, advocacy, or future support, this is your opportunity to be part of a project that strengthens our community and makes a real difference.
