About this Event
EVENT DETAILS:
Join Feminist Bird Club LA for a stroll around Echo Park Lake! This event is geared toward people who are just starting to get into birds and birding. We'll meet some of our local birds (geese, ducks, hawks, grackles, herons, egrets, and warblers are very likely) and talk about binoculars, apps, field guides, tips for IDing birds, and whatever else is interesting to the group.
We have binoculars to lend, and we'll teach you how to use them! Just bring yourself, and maybe a hat if it's sunny.
We are intentionally keeping this group size small, so please be sure to RSVP, and please let us know if you register but then you can't make it so we can open up your spot to another new birder. 🦆🦅🦜
PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:
We will meet in front of the Boathouse on the east side of the lake . There is street parking all the way around the lake, but sometimes it can be tough to find parking, so allow time if you like to be punctual (no judgment if not!). If you have any trouble finding us on the day of our event, please text Jess at (323) 627-2865 or Maggie at (203) 984-6690.
ACCESSIBILITY:
There is a paved path all the way around the lake. At most, we will do the full loop, which is about 1 mile of walking. We will move at a birder's pace, which is to say, very slowly! There are restrooms available at the lake, but we can't make any promises about their cleanliness. If you have any questions about accessibility or ideas for how we can improve accessibility, please reach out.
