About this Event
This is the registration for the Birdhouse decorating contest with the Trinity Bellwoods BIA. To be entered into the contest particpants pay a $10 deposit which will be returned when they submit their work for the contest.
Eligibility: This contest is open to everyone! Maximum of 3 entries per person
Birdhouses: Pick up a birdhouse to decorate or craft your own!
Pre-made birdhouses can be picked up from Comrags (812 Dundas St W), Worth Gallery (830 Dundas St W) or Capri Shoes (818 Dundas St W) during their regular business hours. Participants will have to pay a deposit to enter the contest - paid online (eventbrite) or in person when you pick up your birdhouse. Deposits will be returned ($10, not including eventbrite admin fee) when you submit your completed birdhouse for judging.
Decoration Guidelines: Decorate the birdhouse however you like! We just ask that the decor be family friendly and that you be considerate of the birds by not painting the inside of the birdhouse and using non toxic materials as much as possible
Contest: Judging will take place on May 4th at 3 pm at Worth gallery. First place will be awarded $500, second place $300 and third place $100.
Submission Deadline: Completed birdhouses must be submitted by April 25th to be entered into the contest. Submissions can be dropped off at Capri Shoes or Comrags during regular business hours. Any deposits remaining after April 25th will be donated to Birds Canada.
Birdhouses will be displayed at Worth Gallery over the May 4-5th weekend and then hung up outside around the Tribell neighbourhood for the whole community to enjoy!
Once submitted birdhouses will belong to the BIA, however, efforts will be made to accommodate those who would like their birdhouse returned, but it cannot be guaranteed.
