About this Event
Dr. Clarkson will help us identify birds by sight and sound and talk about the birds that nest and migrate through Little Creek Preserve and the surrounding Sakonnet Greenway Trail.
We will be meeting at the main kiosk at Little Creek. Parking is limited, please park on Malee Terrace and walk over. Binoculars are encouraged to bring for birding, but are not required.
Charles Clarkson leads local and international bird tours through his company, Antbird Tours. He was previously the Director of Avian Research for the Audubon Society of RI, and served as the coordinator for the RI Bird Atlas, a five-year, statewide project aimed at documenting the distribution and abundance of our birds. Dr. Clarkson has a PhD from the University of Virginia, was a former Board member of Aquidneck Island Land Trust, and is co-chair of the Conservation Committee for the International Waterbird Society.
