About this Event
Event Description:
Our Birding Photowalk is an annual favorite and this year it's taking flight with a post-walk image review session! Join us for a morning nature walk photographing birds at Stage Nature Center in Troy. Experience an exclusive live owl photography opportunity, and finish the morning at a nearby local coffee shop to review images, share successes, and edit together. Attendees get 50% of rentals for the weekend!
This event is designed as a small-group photography experience focused on getting out into the field and photographing wildlife together. Woodward Camera staff will be present throughout the walk to offer tips, camera setting help, and guidance when needed. To keep the experience comfortable for wildlife photography, attendance is intentionally limited.
📍 Full location & check-in details will be shared in your confirmation email after registration.
🦉 Bird Photography Class (Optional but Highly Recommended)
Want to prepare ahead of time? We highly recommend attending our Bird Photography Class before the walk. This class covers gear recommendations, camera settings, and techniques for photographing birds in depth, so you can arrive ready to put your skills into practice during the photowalk.
Even better—the instructor leading the class will also be joining us on the walk, so you'll already be familiar with him and ready to hit the ground running.

Because we are limiting attendance to maintain a small group experience and support the Nature Center’s programming, only registered participants will be able to join the walk and owl photography session.
What Happens if there are Thunderstorms?
In the event of thunderstorms, we will be canceling this walk. We will send out an email to all attendees asap, notifying them of the cancelation and provide a full refund for the walk. It's no fun to be walking around in a thunderstorm, and it's not ideal bird watching weather either! We will, however, keep the event going if it's raining lightly or sprinkling.
