At exactly 7:00 PM on New Year’s Eve, residents and visitors gather along the shoreline with road flares and battery operated LED lights to create a glowing ring of unity and celebration around Birch Bay. This community-powered event is a symbol of reflection, resilience, and hope for the year ahead.Whether you're lighting a flare or simply watching the bay come alive with firelight, you’ll feel the magic of the moment as we come together to welcome a new year. Dress warm, bring friends and family, and be part of this unforgettable Birch Bay tradition!
A limited number of complimentary flares, generously provided by The Bay Center Market, will be available on December 30th and 31st at the Visitor Information Center from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Any remaining flares will be distributed at Birch Bay Beach Park (7930 Birch Bay Drive) on New Year’s Eve from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, while supplies last.
We still have some reusable, battery-operated, and eco-friendly LED flares available for purchase at the Visitor Information Center while supplies last.
