About this Event
Feeding our babies is more than a skill — it’s legacy, love, and survival.
In this intimate 2-hour circle (limited to 5 families), we center Black, Indigenous, and families of color as we explore breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, and combination feeding — without judgment and without pressure.
Together we’ll cover:
- How lactation works (in clear, simple language)
- Latching basics and positioning
- Pumping and milk storage
- Returning to work and protecting your supply
- What’s normal in the early days — and when to ask for help
- How partners, aunties, and chosen family can support feeding
We’ll also name the real history of how feeding has been shaped by racism, survival, and resistance and uplift the stories of BIPOC parents who are reclaiming nourishment on their own terms.
This is not a lecture. It’s a circle. There will be space for questions, hands-on demonstration, storytelling, and reflection.
You’ll leave with:
- Practical feeding tools
- A personalized support plan
- Mama Bird–curated local lactation resources
- Community connection
Because feeding our babies feeds our future.
