Are you passionate about life sciences, technology, or innovation?
The Life Sciences Hackathon “Biospark 2.0” is your chance to turn ideas into action – and compete for amazing prizes: one team will have the opportunity to negotiate up to €30,000 investment from BSV Ventures, the Future Biomedicine Fund will award €500 to the first-place team of its challenge, and the Lithuanian Population and Rare Disease Biobank will top it off with an exclusive tour of the VU Faculty of Medicine Science Center. The National Cancer Center & National Cancer Institute will also launch a separate challenge, offering a guided tour of the Radiation Oncology Department and insights into cutting-edge radiotherapy and AI-driven cancer research. On top of that, the top 3 teams will win tickets to The COINS 2026 conference!
During this 3-day event, participants will collaborate on solving real challenges from the biotech industry, guided by mentors from science, business, and investment fields – all leading up to the final pitch session.
Event features the following challenges:
- Development of secure AI Platform for Predicting Toxicity, Surgical Complications, and Treatment Response after Total Neoadjuvant Therapy in Rectal Cancer
-Developing a pharmacogenomics-based solution — an algorithm that optimizes drug selection and dosage based on individual genotype data.

Day 1 (November 26) – Research & Ideation
Kickoff, team formation (for those who come without a team), company challenge presentations, brainstorming sessions, and the first development sprint.
Day 2 (November 27) – Business Development
Mentoring sessions, building business models, refining solutions, getting introduced to life science commercialization methods, and creating your pitch deck.
Day 3 (November 28) – Final Pitches
Pitch training workshop with Walid El Cheikh, final pitch preparation, and on-stage presentations to the jury and audience.
