ABOUT GP DINNERS:

Good People Dinners is a community built around meaningful conversations and delicious feasts, a moveable social club for those who value authenticity, a better way to connect with each other.

Since 2012 we have hosted over 550 dinners, overnights and retreats. We've produced events in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, New York City, Miami, Austin, London, Singapore and deep in the Nevada desert.

Every event includes speakers on a wide range of topics and chef prepared meals.

In 2021 we established our own retreat venue in the mountains near Yosemite National Park, about 140 miles due east of San Francisco. and has hosted about 55 companies and organizations and counting. These groups are usually technology-driven and impact oriented, often touching on the arts or education, addressing climate change and ecological regeneration or with ambitions to create other kinds of deep systemic change.

OUR SPEAKER:

Our friend Catherine Connors is an award-winning content luminary. As Head of Content at Disney Interactive from 2011 to 2015, Catherine pioneered dramatic cultural shifts in how women are portrayed in popular media. Catherine is now co-founder and CCO of Demeter Media and continues to apply a feminist lens to changing how women are portrayed in narratives that shape expectations for girls around the world.

Tonight we'll discuss how a similar approach might dramatically shift culture and public attitudes around the well being of the natural world. What are standout movies and shows that supported the Civil Rights movement and our country's ongoing struggle to pass an Equal Rights Amendment to our constitution? Are storys such as the Avatar series of movies having any impact on our slow progress towards a regenerative economy? What is Hollywood's role in shaping biophilia around the world and what more can we expect in the years ahead?

OUR CHEF:

Our friend Sam Lippman is a Bay Area chef with over 15 years experience working within innovative companies and kitchens. He has cooked at Google, Cafe Soulstice, and he created and lead the food program at Airbnb from 2011 through 2016.

Chef Sam just wrapped up his work in R&D and Marketing at Hooray Foods, where he was the company’s first hire. Sam’s food tends towards paleo, plants, and puns. Most importantly, he hopes everyone has a great time and learns something new with each meal.
