About this Event
Join us to learn about the Refuge and participate in a beginner-friendly BioBlitz! You'll learn what a BioBlitz is, how to use the iNaturalist app, and how your observations help contribute to community science.
We'll start with a short presentation in our auditorium, and then we will lead a leisurely walk in the Butterfly Garden and on the New Chicago Marsh boardwalk at the Alviso Unit of the Refuge to look for plants, insects, birds, and much more. This program is suitable for all ages, and the trails are accessible. Those experienced with iNaturalist are also more than welcome!!
Want to be ready to go? Create an iNaturalist account and download the app on your smartphone. We also recommend joining our iNaturalist Project in advance by searching for "EEC BioBlitz for Beginners, March 2025." We will help you with the rest!
