Join us for the 2021 Bio-art weekend masterclass at Little Pink Maker. Learn about biomaterials, biomimicry, synthetic biology, community science, and much more in this hands-on workshop for those curious about the future.
What we’ll do
The future is unknown but one thing is for sure we need to work with nature in order to tackle some of the problems we face as humans now. Bio-art offers an insight into a future of holistic living with synthetic biology at the forefront of reshaping how we interact with living objects and design.

In this weekend's deep-dive workshop, we’ll as critical questions about how we as humans work with science and technology in a hands-on art approach. You’ll be guided into the world of biomaterials for the built environment. Imagine what the future with living organism built structures would exist along with creating some of these materials first hand, you’ll work with bacteria, yeast, and fungi to transform design objects into functional pieces for the future whilst asking questions about ethics and sustainability.
You’ll be introduced to biomimicry and how we can harness the power of nature to create a better living environment for everyone, whilst learning how to harness the power of our biophilic tendencies. You’ll get hands-on learning about citizen science and introduced to the wonderful world of community-led biology where anything is possible. As well as exploring rapid prototyping machines, electronic interfaces and much more in order to envision what the future maybe with bio-art.
The full schedule for the two days will be posted here on the 1st of August but spaces are extremely limited.
