BIMinNZ Auckland - Future of Standards, Future of Construction

Join us in person at BIMinNZ Auckland for an exciting dive into the Future of Standards and the Future of Construction, with two presentations and a panel on two of today's most important topics for our industry:
1. The updates to the international standard on Information Management ISO 19650
2. Modular construction enabled by BIM and Integrated Project Solutions (IPS).

PRESENTATIONS
Paul Schillcock (Founder and Chief Learning Officer at Operam Academy) will walk through the proposed updates to ISO 19650, including a new unified Information Management process currently open for public consultation.
Ergio Bello-Grippi (Large Projects Segment Manager Healthcare at HILTI) will explore how through BIM, Integrated Project Solutions (IPS), modular design, digital coordination, and installation planning early in the project, Hilti supports teams to optimise total cost of ownership, reduce delivery and installation risk, and compress programme timelines. Through BIM‑enabled workflows, projects benefit from improved certainty, enhanced constructability, and better alignment between design intent and site execution.

SPEAKERS
Paul Schillcock plays a prominent role in various government and industry-led initiatives, both in the UK and internationally, as well as in the development of national and international standards. He is one of the authors behind the internationally agreed standards for information management, ISO 19650, and is currently contributing to updates for parts one, two, and three - which are scheduled for release by the end of 2026. Paul draws on many years of hands-on experience to help governments, organisations, and major projects worldwide to align their business processes with the latest industry standards and best practices.
He has established himself as a leading authority on the effective management of information throughout the asset life cycle.
Through his company, Operam Academy, Paul develops engaging learning resources designed to help teams build the capability and capacity required to manage information effectively - supporting his mission to make information management simple and accessible.

Ergio Bello-Grippi is a Civil Structural Engineer with over 15 years of experience delivering Healthcare and complex Infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. He holds a master’s degree in construction project management from Loughborough University (UK) and brings deep expertise in seismic design, MEP coordination, and BIM‑enabled project delivery.
Ergio leads the engineering and execution of seismic MEP systems for major hospitals and critical infrastructure. His work focuses on translating design into constructible, modular solutions that enhance resilience, safety, sustainability, and delivery certainty across the project lifecycle.
