The Erly
Niles, Michigan band, The Erly, formed in late 2017 by vocalist/bassist Collin Mattiford and vocalist/drummer Fran Gleason. Trevor McDonald joined soon after on guitar and vocals, turning a last minute “musician wanted” ad into a Craigslist success story. The band released albums Shadows (2018), Reckless (2021), and Culture Fever (2023), building a loyal regional following with songs like “Flame The Main,” “Red Roof Inn,” “Hey Amanda,” and “Jasmine”.
The Erly’s trajectory shifted with the addition of keyboardist Simon Kauffman Hurst and the release of Salem Lights (2024). The album, and its singalong centerpiece “55 On The Other Side,” helped push the band onto the national stage, playing alongside acts such as Sixpence None The Richer, Cracker, and Max.
By mixing structure and spontaneity, The Erly bring a “jam-adjacent” sound to their live performances that differ from night to night. The sound of folk and Americana vocal harmony mixes with jazz, rock, funk, and soul to create a unique experience.
Billy King and the Bad Bad Bad
Billy King and The Bad Bad Bad is a Power Psych band based out of Austin, Texas. They blend power psych, tough attitude, and raw American rock n roll grit who refuse to be boxed in by an industry obsessed with Algorithms. Their mission is simple: create the best rock songs they can not bound by genre, stand with the indepedent artists and outsiders who feel the world shifting, and interrupt the status quo.
Concrete Chicken
The psychedelic rock suite Concrete Chicken—known locally for its mind-expanding instrumentation, entrancing grooves, and genre-bending style—originated as a joint creative project between five friends and long-time frequenters of the West Lafayette house show scene. Initially the outgrowth of four local favorites, MCK, The Lunar Diamonds, Town Park, and Seduce!, Concrete Chicken has cemented itself as a mainstay in the burgeoning Greater Lafayette scene.
Running off an infinite list of influences (including King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Allah-Las, Pink Floyd, King Crimson & Pixies) and with an even longer backlog of demos, their live performances embark on a journey across time and space. Casting spells and groovy riffs, Concrete Chicken weaves the chaos and confusion of the present into an ever-growing sonic world of psychedelia, punk, hard rock, and prog that springs to life when they take the stage.
