Curious about group rides but not sure where to start? This ride is for you!
We’ll use the Little Sugar Creek Greenway southbound to practice essential group ride skills in a low-stress, supportive environment—no cars, no pressure!
What to expect:
- Easy, conversational pace
- Instruction/ encouragement/ coaching during the ride
Things to look forward to on the rides:
- Riding predictably
- Straight-line riding
- No sudden braking or swerving
Communication
- Pointing out hazards
- Calling “slowing,” “stopping,” “passing”
- When not to call things out
Managing Speed & Distance
- Safe spacing / Holding a line
- Why overlapping wheels is dangerous / managing speed
- Managing cadence on hills/climbs
Cornering basics
- Line choice
- Looking through turns
