Those of us who want to do a 32 mile round trip ride will meet in charming Lambertville, NJ, just across the Delaware River from New Hope, at the Lambertville Station Restaurant, which is about 100 feet from the canal path. We’ll bike 7 miles to Bulls Island where we’ll meet the group that wants to leave from that spot. We should arrive at Bulls Island shortly before or at 11:00 am. There’s a bridge across the canal from Bulls Island to the Towpath, and we’ll meet on the Towpath there. Then, we’ll all proceed for another 9 miles north on the level path to Frenchtown.
We’ll break there for lunch at one of the restaurants, or riders can carry a picnic lunch if they prefer, and then we’ll return to Bulls Island and Lambertville via the same path.
The Towpath is a gravel path and is more suitable for hybrid bikes than for road bikes.
There is parking behind the Lambertville Station at 11 Bridge St, Lambertville, New Jersey 08530. There is also parking on Bulls Island.
