PLEASE READ ¨ALL THIS INFORMATION BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO REGISTER FOR THE RIDE.
- Suggested Donation: $10 per Rider. Donations are not required. All donations are welcome, and support Bike Newport's inclusive programs for bike safety education and advocacy. You'll see a 'Donate' option during checkout. Thank you!
- You MUST be able to ride 15 miles comfortably at 10mph with traffic
- You MUST know how to use your gears for hills (there are several.)This is a NIGHT ride, we will be riding on dark roads.
- A helmet, FULL CHARGED bright front headlight, and rear red blinking light are required to participate.
- Ensure your bike is in good working order before arriving - Check your air pressure, brakes, and gears BEFORE the ride
- If riding an e-bike, ensure it is charged and in FULLY working condition
- You MUST wear high viz vest/jacket
- If you start on the ride and are then not able to continue on the ride, you are responsible for getting yourself home.
- All riders must be 18+
- All riders must register beforehand.
Bike Newport is delighted to present another unforgettable season of our Full Moon Rides Sponsored by AARP Rhode Island. The secret is out about these highly enjoyable group rides around the beautiful Ocean Drive, made all the more beautiful by colorful Newport sunsets and the glistening full moon glow on the water. Be sure to register while space remains, and we look forward to riding with you.
We'll gather at Equality Park in downtown Newport (adjacent to Parlor Bar & Kitchen, 200 Broadway), before we begin our ride through iconic Newport views - lit first by the setting sun, and then by the rising moon.
The Ride:
We'll ride 15 miles on Newport’s scenic roads and coastline by the light of the moon – from downtown Newport to Green Bridge, around some of the beautiful Ocean Loop, and along the mansions of Bellevue Avenue.
Inclement Weather:
If weather is not cooperating, please check Instagram or Facebook @bikenewportri for updates. There will be a replacement ride within three days if possible.

Cancellation:
Registration is limited and we frequently reach our maximum, so if your plans change after you register and you will not be attending, please cancel your reservation so someone else may take your place. If you have difficulty, call Bike Newport at 401-619-4900 and we'll assist with your cancellation. Thank you!
Additional Information:
• Dress for the weather! We will cancel the ride if weather/road conditions are not safe and attempt to reschedule within 3 days. Keep an eye on our social media @BikeNewportRI for updates.
• You can download the 'Ride with GPS' app and see the Full Moon Ride route here. The route begins at Equality Park on Broadway, proceeds down Marlborough St, left onto America's Cup Ave., right onto lower Thames St, right onto Wellington Ave to King's Park, and then follows the coastal route to Fort Adams State Park, around the Fort and onto the iconic Ocean Loop, with scenic stops at Brenton Point and Ledge Road, before returning to town along Coggeshall Ave and Broadway.
