Course details
Looking for a fun, supportive way to help your child learn to ride?
Big Skills for Small Bikes is a beginner friendly course designed not just for kids, but for the grown ups guiding them. The program focuses on teaching parents and carers how to teach cycling skills, giving you the tools and confidence to support your childβs riding journey.
This course is best suited to children who are just starting out and are not yet riding independently.
Built on a proven curriculum developed by a Cycling Australia coach, each session is hands on, practical, and designed to build confidence for both you and your child. You will also receive guidance and resources to keep the learning going well beyond the course.
The program was developed in response to strong community demand for learn to ride opportunities for younger children, because building lifelong cycling habits starts early.
π Need a little help to join this course?
We believe everyone should have the chance to ride. If cost is a barrier, you may be eligible for a subsidised place through our Pedal It Forward program.
