Since our line is usually just for logs, it’s a rare novelty to see the Maunga from the tracks in the comfort of a classic carriage.🚘 If you're keen to join the convoy without the driving, the 'Americarna Cruiser' leaves the Wind Wand on Friday morning. You can ride the rails down to Hāwera for the "Need for Speed" acceleration display or a visit to the world-class Tawhiti Museum. Alternatively, hop off early in Stratford for a "Refuel & Refresh" gin tasting at the Fenton Street Arts Collective & Distillery 🍸.
👫 For a family-friendly option, the popular “Short Hops” Lepperton shuttles are running one-hour round trips on Saturday - perfect for giving the kids a taste of heritage rail without a long haul. Or, for a more relaxed scenic adventure, the “Stratford Express” departs later in the afternoon, winding through suburbs, towns and rural countryside for a classic afternoon ride.
🎫 You'll need to pre-book early as seats are reserved. Given how popular the debut was last year, tickets are expected to move fast.
