Understanding the Big Lick For those new to the cause, the Big Lick refers to a barbaric practice known as soring. This involves the intentional torture of Tennessee Walking Horses using caustic chemicals and heavy chains. These methods force the horses into an unnatural, high stepping gait. It is a world of hidden scars and silent screams that can only exist if we stay quiet.
The Power of Your Presence We are calling on every advocate to join us because there is massive strength in numbers. When we stand together, our collective voice becomes a roar that the industry cannot ignore. Your physical presence is the only thing standing between these horses and their abusers. We need to show the world that this community demands change and will no longer look the other way.
Our Unbreakable Resolve Last year, cowards attacked Jason and Justin Preisner with Horse Plus Humane Society while they were documenting the abuse. These advocates were physically assaulted for simply speaking the truth. They may have broken our bodies but not our spirits, they only made us stronger.
They tried to silence us with violence, but we will never break our silence.
