About this Event
Join us on Saturday, September 28 at 1:00pm for Big Ideas in Art and Culture, Dark Earth Unicorn, presented by FASTWÜRMS.
Dark Earth Unicorn is a talk about deep soil intimacy, enhancing personal and social well being with the microbiome (Dirt XTC), and understanding the existential importance of the rhizosphere to all life on Earth. Dark Earth Unicorn is also a workshop about simple methods of making bio-char with pyrolysis, cost effective techniques for making aerobic compost/worm tea, and an introduction to high fertility (C.E.C.) fabric container growing.
From the indigenous pre-historic revelations of “Terra Preta de Indio”, to the revolutionary contemporary innovations of the Stockholm Biochar Project, Dark Earth Unicorn has profound implications for human futurity. Dark Earth Unicorn is fantastic and very pragmatic. Benefits include mitigating the climate crisis with carbon storage at scale, improved urban air quality, water and waste management, increased energy production, improved soil fertility and food security, increased biodiversity, and enhanced prosocial and emotional health.
Dark Earth Unicorn is transformative knowledge...... if you want to grow wealthy, healthy and happy in a world that is mutual, bountiful and beautiful.
