Join us for this very special closing event as guest speaker, Jorge Velez -Juarbe PHD, curator of Marine Mammals from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, joins Joe at MorYork Gallery for the closing of BIG BONES, Joe Atlas’ Photo exhibition of images from a secret cache of whale bones hidden in an offsite storage facility and operated by the Museum of Natural history.

Jorge is a paleontologist and mammalogist who studies the evolution and diversification of marine mammals. As Curator of Marine Mammals, he works with NHM's mammalogy and vertebrate paleontology collections.

Jorge will share his expertise and background as curator of marine mammals for the museam, and as a scientist that uses this facility in his daily work. We will discuss and learn about Jorge’s work, the whale bones pictured in the images, and the Incredible value and purpose Jorge’s work snd this collection provide in our rapidly changing world.
