City Park Conservancy and LDWF will host the 77th Annual Big Bass Fishing Rodeo, the oldest freshwater fishing tournament in the country!
Online registration is open and closes 3/26/26.
Day of registration for all competitors is at Café du Monde from 6:30am and closes at 10am
Here are the main events and times for the different events at the Big Bass Rodeo:
▪ Big Bass Rodeo (6:30am-11:00am) – Main bank-fishing only event for kids and adults of all ages to catch the heaviest bass
▪ Battle for the Bass (6:30am-11:00am) – Student fishing competition grades 6-12
–Cichlid + Bream Trim Team Event (6:30am-11:00am) – Teams of up to five compete for heaviest 15 stringer of bream, cichlids, and perch
–Boats on the Bayou (7am- 10:30am) – Bayou St. John fishing competition for kayakers and other non-motorized vessels. Check in is at Bayou St. John at Harrison Ave.
▪ Fishtival (9am-12pm) – FREE family-friendly festival featuring DJ, food, wildlife exhibits, crafts, games, and activities.
