About this Event
The Bi-Frost Film Festival is a Denver Public School District film festival! The films are all made by current DPS students, K-12, and range from drama, comedy, horror, and stop motion. It is a competition for all DPS students in elementary, middle, and high school to share their creative filmmaking—no matter what genre or level—and see their stories told on screen. Additionally, it’s a chance to check out the amazing filmmaking and storytelling of Denver’s youth as they share their perspective hopes, fears, dreams, and voices. The event features a curated selection of student films from Denver Public Schools, representing filmmakers at all grade levels from elementary through high school. Experience a collection of films and filmmakers from all walks of life as we celebrate the collective power of how film can change and drive us.
This year, we are adding MCA Denver’s Anti-Hero to the festival, which is open to all students in the state of Colorado. The Anti-Hero Film seeks to share and celebrate perspectives, narratives, and experiences that have been left out of history by highlighting the voices of women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ communities. This film category will allow us to question the biased norms and standards placed upon us throughout our intertwined histories and champion new perspectives.
