About this Event
Enter a world shaped by nature’s vast and enduring beauty with Bhoomi: Mother Earth, a performance that celebrates the sacred landscapes that sustain life. Drawing from the mythological and philosophical traditions of India, this production reflects on the profound relationship between Earth and the human spirit - made visual through the Indian classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi.
From the still majesty of mountains and the quiet mystery of caves, to the flowing vitality of rivers and the boundless depth of oceans - each piece reflects a distinct landscape woven with its associated mythic or spiritual lens. These sacred landscapes are not merely settings, but living presences that carry stories of creation, transformation, devotion, and reverence.
Please join the Triveni Ensemble for Bhoomi: Mother Earth on Saturday, April 18 at 7pm and Sunday, April 19 at 2pm for an exploration of the enduring connection between humanity and the ground beneath our feet.
All proceeds will benefit Alternatives for Community & Environment, the first environmental justice nonprofit organization in Massachusetts working to create healthy and sustainable communities in the face of systemic injustice.
