About this Event
The Program:
Daniel performs new music inspired by French paintings and Baroque masterworks paired with period paintings. The pieces will be performed with projections of the paintings, mixing French and American, new and historic, and traditional with experimental, including brief descriptions of the music and art. In addition to a solo piece by JS Bach, he will be joined by rising star Momoka Yanagisawa for violin duos by Jean-Marie Leclair. He performs on a French violin made in 1840 by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume and Momoka performs on a French violin made in 1909 by Charles Resuche.
Daniel has performed The Bow and the Brush across the United States and Europe, including Carnegie Hall, Boston University, University of California, The American Library in Paris, University of Rome, and Stern Pissarro Gallery in London. The performance will be followed by a Q&A. “A virtuoso exposition of violin playing, and a celebration of the intersection of art and music” (Fanfare).
