An exploration of the struggles of the human mind, the qualities of the atma (soul), and the metaphors of the warrior and battlefield.
About this Event

In this series of classes we will go deeper into the exploration of the struggles of the human mind, the qualities of the atma (soul), and the metaphors of the warrior and battlefield, as they speak to our daily lives. We’ll also explore the four paths of yoga, as laid out in the Bhagavad Gita.

The classes will focus on the following concepts:

- The Confusion of the Mind

We explore the inner turmoil and confusion experienced by Arjuna, a warrior prince who is about to engage in a great battle. Arjuna is filled with doubt and uncertainty, questioning the purpose and morality of the violence he is about to unleash upon his enemies. The confusion of Arjuna is a metaphor for the struggles of the human mind.

- The Qualities of the Atma

We will explore the teachings of the Gita regarding the atma and its qualities. We will discuss how the atma is described as eternal, unchanging, and indestructible, and how it is distinct from the physical body and mind. We will also discuss how the qualities of the atma can be cultivated through spiritual practice.

- Four Paths of Yoga

The Gita describes four primary paths of yoga, each of which is designed to help individuals attain self-realization and liberation from the material world. These paths include Karma Yoga (selfless action), Bhakti Yoga (devotion), Jnana Yoga (knowledge), and Dhyana Yoga (meditation). Throughout the classes, we will delve deeply into the teachings of each of these paths and explore how they can be applied in our daily lives.

After successfully completing the Bhagavad Gita workshop, participants will receive a Bhagavad Gita In-depth Certification of Completion. The certification, endorsed by Swami Chidananda, emphasizes your commitment to understanding and embodying the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and also equips you, if you so wish, to share these teachings with others.
