BFI Film Academy Film Pitch Challenge Competition.The winning pitch will be produced as a short film and showcased at the BFI Film Academy Young Filmmakers Showcase in March 2026. The programme is supported by the National Lottery as part of the BFI Film Academy, which offers opportunities for ambitious 16–25 year olds anywhere in the UK to learn more about film and establish a career in the screen industries.
As part of the Story Development Intensive, aspiring screenwriters aged 18-25 will pitch their short film script to an industry panel. Mentored by Industry professionals, 30 young writers have crafted original short film screenplays which will be read by professional actors and pitched to an industry panel.
