About this Event
We invite researchers, health and social care professionals, PPI leads, and anyone interested in meaningful engagement with children and young people in research to take part in a half-day in-person workshop focused on creating inclusive, ethical, and impactful research with children and young people.
This will include presentations and workshops led by experts in this field: Kristin Liabo, Jane Chudleigh & Jennifer Preston.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain the rights-based and impact-based rationale for PPI in research with children and young people.
- Apply a framework for equitable, diverse, and inclusive PPI to create an environment that supports young people from various backgrounds and experiences.
- Integrate PPI with children and young people throughout the entire research lifecycle.
- Co-design research elements, such as a patient information leaflet, recruitment strategy, or a PPI plan, for specific challenges in paediatric research.
- Formulate concrete actions to improve your own PPI practices and draft a report on a proposed PPI activity using a structured framework.
