About this Event
In this one-day, in-person training, participants will build upon foundational Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills to deepen their ability to understand and respond to the underlying needs that drive behavior. Participants will explore how past experiences, health and mental health challenges, and system interactions can create barriers to change and partnership. While MI alone cannot resolve all housing or community stability challenges, this approach supports strong helping partnerships grounded in empathy, autonomy, and shared understanding—creating conditions for meaningful forward movement.
Basic familiarity with Motivational Interviewing in a helping role prior to this training is recommended.
