Beyond the Bin: Tour Day at Napa's Recycling & Composting Facility

Join us for a tour of the City of Napa Materials Diversion Facility, a nationally recognized Recycling and Composting Facility! Learn what happens to the items you place in your compost and recycle carts after they are picked up by Napa Recycling’s collection trucks.

• NEW Touch-a-Truck Family Tour: A shorter tour geared for kids and big fans of Napa Recycling’s collection trucks
• Tour the Recycling operation: Learn about our newest use of technology like optical sorters and robots that help us capture more recycling materials
• Hear about The CASP Composting Process: Learn how food scraps turn into a beneficial soil ammendment called compost in our covered aerated static pile system
• Tours leave every 20 minutes starting at 9:20 am until 12:20 pm
• Watch a live Truck Demo while you wait for your tour

We will have community organizations booths, games, and a compost giveaway. Please bring your own bucket to take home organic compost made from local food scraps and yard trimmings.

Please note: Tours could be canceled in the event of heavy rain without notice. Tour attendees must wear closed-toe, thick sole shoes (no sandals, flats, or heels).
