In this musicality-focused session, we’ll step outside the default “on1” mindset, get comfortable with different timings, and start hearing what in the music supports each one.
This workshop is mostly geared toward bachata. We’ll draw from its roots–bolero and son–to explore how different timings exist across genres and how you can take them from one dance and apply them to another.
Then we bring it into movement –
and see how you can respond differently to the same song.
For dancers who are curious and ready to challenge their ear, their timing, and their habits.
