OVERVIEW:
Strong leadership takes emotional skill, especially when you are under pressure. This hands-on workshop is for founders and leaders who work with employees, contractors, advisors, or partners. You will learn practical ways to manage the emotional load of building a business, stay steady in tense moments, and receive critical feedback without getting defensive. Leave with simple tools and language you can use right away.
YOUR FACILITATOR:
Dr. Rebecca J. Erickson is Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Departments of Anthropology & Sociology at The University of Akron. Her work explores how people manage emotion in demanding environments and how it shapes communication, relationships, and well-being. Becky brings practical, evidence-informed strategies for staying grounded, strengthening empathy, and treating critical feedback as useful input for growth.
PARKING:
Please ensure you are parking in the designated Bounce Parking areas, reference the "Bounce member, tenant and visitor parking" areas listed below. Any parking outside of this area is not under the designation of Bounce and subject to private ticketing/fines. There is ADA accessible parking spots directly in front of the Bounce main entrance, labeled as "Bounce short-term visitor parking" on the supplied map.
WORKSHOPS REQUIRE ADVANCE REGISTRATION AND ARE FREE TO BOUNCE CLIENTS AND $5 FOR NON-CLIENTS
This event is open to all entrepreneurs looking to take their business beyond the startup phase. Bounce clients, including tenants, remote tenants and monthly Generator members, can attend for free, but are still required to register. All other entrepreneurs are asked to pay a $5 fee. Seating is limited. All participants are welcomed to enjoy free coworking at Bounce for the entire day.
