"Beyond Gilberto" is an exploration of Brazilian guitar, venturing beyond the familiar realms of bossa nova and João Gilberto.Through research and passionate performance, these students delve into the rich rhythmic tapestry of baião, arrasta-pé, ijexá, maracatu, frevo, and partido-alto. They also expand the sonic landscape by exploring a diverse array of instruments, including the 7-cordas, bandolim, cavaquinho, and viola caipira.
