About this Event

Please note: To join this workshop you or your business needs to reside within one of the following GM local authorities: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Manchester, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside or Trafford, Wigan.

You also need to be: The owner of a business OR an aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea you want to develop.

Beyond ChatGPT - The AI Guide for Small Businesses"

1. Introduction (10-15 min)

The team from Briix will introduce themselves and their work

2. Audience Discovery & Engagement (15-20 min)

3. AI Literacy for Startups: Beyond ChatGPT (30-40 min)

An explanation of what AI can do for small businesses right now (using simple practical knowledge, revealing the importance of AI literacy)

Overview of examples using previous successful projects (e.g., automating admin, sales outreach, customer support, content creation).

Use of real client stories to illustrate each point, including the value created costs and explaining this concept (how we measure the exact value return of an AI system)

4. Live Mini-Audit / Group Exercise (30-40 min)

Walk-through of a simplified version of the AI Audit process, using a volunteer’s business or a composite example.

5. Break (20 min)

6. Open Q&A / Problem-Solving (20-30 min)

7. Wrap-Up, Next Steps (10 min)

We are able to provide our services and workshops for free because of the funding we receive from the UK government. In order to continue to provide these services free of charge, we need to provide our funders with information about the people we have helped through our services and workshops.

To ensure we have the correct information, please fill out the Generator Registration Form, or bring one of the following forms of identification with you to the workshop:

  • Your National Insurance (NI) number – if you have not yet registered a business
  • Your Companies House registration number or Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) – if you have registered a company with Companies House or are self-employed/sole trader registered with HMRC

Kindly note that we may not be able to admit you to the workshop without this information, so we strongly encourage you to have it ready on the day.


The Generator is a project with two vibrant enterprise hubs, located in St Peter’s Square, on the ground floor of the Town Hall Extension, and in Royal Mills in Ancoats. Our services include workspaces, events and workshops, 1-to-1 business information support, plus access to expert intellectual property and legal advice, and an introduction to our industry-standard business databases.
