Explore survivor voices, engage men as allies, and co-create community-driven solutions toward ending gender-based violence.
About this Event

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) continues to affect communities globally, impacting women, children, and families in profound ways. Traditional approaches have often centered on professional interventions, overlooking the critical voices of survivors and men.

The African Women’s Alliance of Waterloo Region (AWAWR) is hosting its 3rd Annual GBV Conference to transform this narrative through a platform of shared responsibility, inclusivity, and collaboration.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Blame: Collaborative Solutions to GBV,” calls for a shift from fault-finding to fostering dialogue and joint action. The sub-theme, “The Other Half of the Story,” underscores the importance of inclusive participation, bringing together survivors, men as allies, and professionals to co-create sustainable solutions.
