The Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin has partnered with the Betty Brinn Children's Museum to support Sensory Friendly sessions. The Betty Brinn Children's Museum offers countless opportunities for children to learn about and explore their world through play. Through interactive and hands-on, experiential learning exhibits, participants engage in real-time experimentation and exploration to see how things “work”.
The Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin has partnered with the Betty Brinn Children's Museum to support specific Sensory-Friendly sessions. During these sessions, over 70% of the existing exhibits will be modified to reduce lights, noise and movement. With these modifications, and a reduction in traffic flow during the identified times, families will have the opportunity to interact with exhibits in the way that best meets their family’s sensory based needs.
Registration for each event is required through Eventbrite so that e-tickets for free admission and a specific “Know Before you Go” can be emailed to the family prior to the event. Families must present the e-ticket upon arrival at the museum.
In addition, families will receive a $3.00 voucher to offset the price of parking in the structure, bringing the cost to $6.00 (from $9.00). Street parking is free if families would like to take advantage of that option.
This event would generally cost a family of four $29.00 ($5.00/ticket and $9.00 for parking), and you are receiving this benefit as part of your Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin Membership!
