This splendid combination, rarely heard in concert halls, is an exclusive gift from the Star of Bethlehem festival.
A history thousands of years old belies the divine harp – from the grandeur of Mesopotamian shrines and the brilliance of the pharoah’s palace to the most important stages in the world. It is called the instrument of the angels for its ability to move the human soul, to enchant with the delicacy of its melodies, to trace back ballads from ancient times and to speak forth in passages of contemporary music.
For this appearance, the performers have selected bright and buoyant works – from the positivity of Haydn to the whimsical invocations of Grieg, all brought together in beams of light manifest as a classical, festive voice.
This is an evening where music will serve as a breath of pure air after the whirlwind of celebrations – filled with light, peace and the promise of a new beginning.
