To celebrate World Autism Awareness Day, the Bethel Park High School baseball team will host its annual “Buddies at the Ballfield” game against the South Fayette Lions at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. Wear BLUE to the game for autism awareness!!The event is part of the Best Buddies program, a national initiative that pairs students with disabilities with their able-bodied peers, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to form friendships.
The event will include gameday activities, allowing buddies to receive unique “Best Buddies” uniforms, run the bases prior to the game, throw the ceremonial first pitch, and help announce the lineup for their beloved Hawks. Plus the Kona Ice and Franken-Fried food trucks.
South Fayette will bring several members of its Best Buddies club to join in the festivities, ensuring a memorable day for all participants.
