About this Event
The League is a volunteer-led initiative and a nationwide community for women and non-binary people in sports and the sports industry. Our events, known as Matches, take place in changing locations across Germany. We see our Matches as a safer space — a space for empowerment, networking, knowledge exchange, and creating synergies.
Permission to Fail: Sport, Systems & Self
Failure is part of the game — but what happens when it’s not just personal? At our next Match, we’ll explore how we learn from our own missteps and how the systems around us might be failing us too. In a panel discussion, Deeshyra Thomas (professional basketball player, ALBA Berlin) and Sarah Alles (actress and systemic coach) share their experiences with setbacks, resilience, and navigating high-pressure environments - both, from a personal and professional perspective. Together, we’ll unpack the culture of failure in professional sports and the sports industry: How we talk about mistakes (or avoid them), what it takes to bounce back in perfection-driven spaces, and how we can build environments that embrace vulnerability, growth, and real change. The panel will be held in english.
💥 We've got everything covered for the perfect Match:
