A guitar extravaganza! - open-air in a courtyard in Berlin Mitte on Saturday 24th August.So, come along and see us! It should be a beautiful warm, sunny evening - but in case of rain, we have a Plan B in a neighbouring functions room.
The Berlin Guitar Ensemble (BGE) is a group of guitarists from all over the world, led by Hernan Nunez. Its line-up ranges from 7 to 24 players around a fixed core team. The group's repertoire is very broad and includes arrangements of classics from film soundtracks, unusual original compositions, sophisticated rock and pop standards as well as contemporary classical arrangements.
All players use "Guitar Craft Tuning", which has a much wider sound spectrum than standard guitar tuning and enables an innovative guitar sound. The repertoire is constantly being developed and is open to all musical styles. The music always remains true to a common conceptual approach.
A characteristic, significant part of the repertoire are partly improvised, partly written group compositions, in which a note or chord is passed from one player to another. This unique approach is known as "Circulation".
