About this Event
On Wednesday 27th November, join art, design and architecture writer and MV-B founder Milly Burroughs at Salon am Moritzplatz for the first ever Berlin Art Book Club event.
From 19:00, come together with like-minded art and photography lovers for the first of this new series of non-fiction-focused reading and discussion events. Unlike traditional book clubs, you’re not expected to come having already read any of the books and texts we will discuss, as we will explore them together and discuss their themes and narratives as we go.
Simply come with an open mind and sense of creative curiosity and look forward to discovering essential and lesser known writings from a diverse range of voices that have inspired and dissected art and artistic practice throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. The event is open to, and a safe space for, everyone.
For your reading pleasure and discussion during the event, attendees will receive a goodie bag including:
- A hardback copy of new book , written by co-founders Gabrielle de la Puente and Zarina Muhammad, and generously donated by publisher Penguin Random House
- An exclusive curated reading list of more than 40 art and design-focused books, texts, articles and essays, as recommended by creative people from around the world
Attendance is limited to 20 places, and tickets are priced at 22€ per person, with proceeds to be donated to Berlin-based homeless support charity Light refreshments will be provided.
Rise Foundation e.V. supports people living on the streets of Berlin with warm meals and essential amenities. The organisation’s volunteers prepare food containers and medical and hygiene kits that get distributed twice a month.
